Through the first quarter, Oklahoma CB Dakota Austin has not stepped on the field against Louisiana-Monroe so far after starting last weekend in the lost at Houston. Austin was burned several times by the Cougars before temporarily getting benched. The Sooners have instead gone with true freshman Parrish Cobb and converted WR Michiah Quick at CB opposite standout Jordan Thomas.

Louisiana-Monroe is 0-10 all-time against the Big 12, with an average margin of defeat of five touchdowns. Monroe is almost a seven-TD underdog at Oklahoma. The last time the Sooners lost an opener, they came back the following week and routed Idaho State 64-0 in 2009.
