66 days until college football kickoff: Wyoming scored 66 points in a loss at UNLV on November 12. That's just shy of the FBS record for most points in a loss held by Nevada, who scored 67 points in a four-overtime loss to Boise State in 2007.

The Raiders have selected Florida LT David Sharpe with their fourth-round selection, No. 129 overall. The pick was announced by Nevada governor Brian Sandoval in front of the Welcome to Las Vegas sign. Per NFL Network, the 6-6, 343-pound Sharpe is "almost blind" in his right eye. He blocked for Raiders coach Jack Del Rio's son Luke, the Gators quarterback.

UNLV coach Tony Sanchez received a three-year extension through the 2021 season, the school announced Friday. Sanchez was hired from local prep power Bishop Gorm High School prior to the 2015 season and the Rebels have gone 7-17 over his first two seasons. "Tony is building a foundation for long-term success in every phase of the Rebel football program," UNLV president Len Jessup said. "With his high-energy style and passion for the game, Tony is creating a new culture for UNLV Football that is generating tremendous community support and has Rebel fans excited for the future."

UNLV extends coach Tony Sanchez's contract through the 2021 season. Sanchez, who is 7-17 with the Rebels, signed a four-year deal in December 2014.

UNLV closes out scoring, but falls to Boise

Kurt Palandech connects with Andrew Price for a 45-yard touchdown pass and followed that with a two-point run. But No. 20 Boise State won 42-25 to stay in position for a New Year's Six bowl bid.


McNichols pads lead with 31-yard TD

Jeremy McNichols' first three TDs of the game covered a combined 11 yards. His fourth trip to the end zone is a long romp that extends Boise State's lead over UNLV to 42-17.

Jeremy McNichols takes the handoff and walks into the end zone for a 1-yard score on third-and-goal. Boise State leads UNLV 21-3 midway through the second quarter.

No. 20 Boise State fell behind 3-0 early against UNLV, but have rebounded nicely with a pair of unique touchdown drives. The Broncos had a 19-play drive that lasted 8:18 (its longest of the season) and followed it up with a 1-play drive that lasted just seven seconds (its shortest of the year).


Punt return sets up 2nd Boise State TD

Cedrick Wilson returns Evan Pantels' punt 73 yards to UNLV's 6-yard line. Jeremy McNichols needed just one play to go outside and score to increase the Broncos' lead to 14-3.


Short TD run ends long Broncos drive

Brett Rypien leaps across the goal line for a 1-yard score -- actually from six inches out -- on the 19th play of the possession. No. 20 Boise State leads UNLV 7-3 late in the first quarter.
