USC hires North Texas OC to replace Kingsbury

North Texas offensive coordinator Graham Harrell has been hired to the same position at USC, the school announced Wednesday night. He replaces Kliff Kingsbury, who briefly held the post before leaving to become coach of the Arizona Cardinals.

Source: North Texas offensive coordinator Graham Harrell tonight accepted an offer to become OC at USC. The Athletic first reported the agreement. Harrell replaces Kliff Kingsbury, who briefly held the job before becoming Arizona Cardinals head coach. Harrell spent the last few years building a dynamic offense at North Texas alongside coach Seth Littrell and quarterback Mason Fine.

There's no deal yet but North Texas offensive coordinator Graham Harrell is a leading candidate to be USC's next offensive coordinator. The two sides spoke today, sources said. USC coach Clay Helton has taken his time with the hire, but Harrell makes sense given his parallels with Kliff Kingsbury, Helton's initial choice.‬ Harrell is a creative thing offensive coach who has had great success at UNT under Seth Littrell with quarterback Mason Fine.
