The inaugural Polynesian Bowl provided a big boost to Pac-12 recruiting Saturday night, as six prospects announced commitments during the game and five pledged to Pac-12 programs. Oregon was the big winner in the conference, landing four-star linebacker Isaac Slade-Matautia and three-star defensive tackle Austin Faoliu. USC received a commitment from three-star defensive tackle Brandon Pili. Oregon State picked up cornerback Charles Watson and Stanford added three-star linebacker Levani Damuni to its impressive class. The highest rated prospect to commit was ESPN 300 defensive end Langi Tuifua, who committed to BYU.

Group of 5 schools considering own playoff

A growing number of Group of 5 officials are in favor of adding a playoff specifically for the Group of 5 schools because it's been 32 years since a non-Power 5 team won a national championship.

ESPN 300 defensive tackle Jay Tufele continues to narrow his finalists, as he announced a top five of BYU, Michigan, Ohio State, USC and Utah. The nation's No. 131 prospect and No. 10 defensive tackle has taken official visits to Michigan and Ohio State and plans to visit USC and Utah in January. The hometown Utes have been pushing hard to keep the state's No. 1 prospect from leaving.
