Briscoe helps Sam Houston State beat Richmond 48-43

Jeremiah Briscoe threw for 411 yards and four touchdowns and had a 41-yard scoring run to help Sam Houston State beat Richmond 48-43 on Friday night in a game postponed and moved to Baylor University because of Hurricane Harvey.

Delaware is hiring Richmond's Danny Rocco as its next coach, a source tells ESPN. He will receive a five-year contract at Delaware. Rocco informed Richmond today of his departure. Rocco is 43-21 in five seasons at Richmond and 90-41 overall as a head coach. He replaces Dave Brock, fired in October. Rocco is a Pennsylvania native who has coached at Virginia, Maryland, Texas and Boston College, among other college spots, as well as with the New York Jets in 2000.

Gage Gubrud finished 21 for 32 for 287 yards and three touchdowns, all three in the first half, to lead Eastern Washington past Richmond 38-0 in the FCS quarterfinals Saturday.
