Texas Tech AD promises team will return to 'elite' status (1:18)

Adam Rittenberg ESPN Staff Writer

Texas Tech AD Kirby Hocutt faces an interesting coaching decision with Kliff Kingsbury's successor. He could once again go young/offense with coaches like North Texas' Seth Littrell or Troy's Neal Brown, or he could go defense/veteran with someone like Clemson defensive coordinator Brent Venables or Oregon defensive coordinator Jim Leavitt, both of whom go back to Hocutt's Kansas State days. Utah State's Matt Wells also could be an option here.
