Under the proposed legislation from the NCAA Division I Council, recruits would be allowed to take official visits on the same days that schools are holding prospect camps. Schools would be able to pay for the prospective student athlete and his family's travel, but the institutions would not be allowed to pay for admission to the camp. But still staffers at Monday's recruiting personnel forum at the AFCA convention, expressed major concern that many bigger schools would use these camp official visits as tryouts and burn up a recruit's allotted five official visits. "What happens if they decide not to offer these kids, and he's used up all five of his visits before he even gets to the fall," Texas State director of player personnel Michael George asked the group.
