Utah State has had its last two coaches leave for Power 5 jobs (Gary Andersen and Matt Wells), so the job is better than it used to be. Andersen, now Utah's associate head coach/D-line coach, could return to Logan, where he still keeps his primary home. Other candidates include Weber State coach Jay Hill, Utah defensive coordinator Morgan Scalley and BYU assistant head coach Ed Lamb. One outside-the-box option is Hawaii coach Nick Rolovich. Former Utah State defensive coordinators Dave Aranda (LSU) and Todd Orlando (Texas) both would need to take pay cuts to return.
