After struggling for several weeks, the Buffs (5-4) are just one win shy of bowl eligibility with three games left (at Arizona State, USC, at Utah).

The Pac-12 Network broadcast said Colorado QB Steven Montez was not treated for a concussion and that the issue appeared to be a neck strain. Montez was cleared to return to the game.

Colorado QB Steven Montez took a hit to the head early in the third quarter against Cal and was removed in favor of backup Sam Noyer. The offense was humming to that point and Montez had completed 12 of 17 passes for 254 yards and a pair of touchdowns to help build a 27-14 lead.
