Darriel Mack had struggled in the pass game since taking over for the injured McKenzie Milton, but UCF's scoring drive at the end of the third quarter showed exactly what the Knights needed to do to get some cushion against USF. Mack threw quick, short passes for easy completions, and the Knights had balance -- ending with a 39-yard touchdown run from Greg McCrae.

Houston QB D'Eriq King finished with 419 passing yards and 5 passing TDs and 134 rushing yards and 2 rushing TDs in the Cougars' 57-36 win over No. 21 USF. He's the first FBS QB with 400+ passing yards, 100+ rushing yards and 7 TDs responsible for in a game since Mississippi State's Nick Fitzgerald in 2016.

No. 21 South Florida gives up a season-worst 684 yards in a 57-36 loss to Houston, leaving the FBS with just four undefeated teams now. Said coach Charlie Strong: "When you lose a game the way we just lost it, it's totally embarrassing. We're a better football team than what we showed today."
