With Iowa State playing host to Big 12 favorites Baylor this weekend, the Cyclones are scheduled to bring in at least a pair of official visitors. The biggest name on the list is No. 37 athlete Michael Onyemaobi of Temecula (California) Chaparral High School. Onyemaobi has been a longtime commitment to Cal, but he seems interested in what Iowa State has to offer. Iowa State also plans to host sleeper defensive lineman Abe Noland out of Watkinsville (Georgia) Oconee County.

The Cyclones defeated San Jose State 44-10 and finally got Mike Warren on track along the way. After a slow start to the season, the preseason All-Big 12 running back piled up 171 total yards and a TD.

Jacob Park continues to make the case he should be Iowa State's starting QB. Park has completed 8 of 10 passes and a TD, and has added a 35-yard scamper. Iowa State leads San Jose State at half, 23-3.

FPI gives Iowa State a 51.8 percent chance of defeating San Jose State today. This could be the winless Cyclones' best chance of netting coach Matt Campbell his first win in Ames until Iowa State travels to Kansas on Nov. 12.

After starting the season 0-3, the Cyclones aren't taking their foot off the gas on the recruiting trail in their search for better talent. Iowa State has already hosted Florida defensive end K'Jakyre Daley, coveted junior-college cornerback Octavious Morgan and four-star Cyclone receiver commit Kam'ron White on official visits, but this weekend more visitors are expected when San Jose State comes to Ames. The Cyclones will host at least three key visitors in three-star Texas running back Jaylen Dixon, fast-rising Pittsburgh linebacker Kenny Robinson and juco cornerback Keisean Nixon.

Iowa State's Joel Lanning and Jacob Park shared the QB duties today and neither was particularly effective in a 41-20 loss to TCU. They combined to go 19/36 for 217 yards and no TDs, though Lanning did rush for two. The 0-3 Cyclones still have a lot to figure out offensively.

A heartwarming story continues: Abby Faber, the young Iowa State fan diagnosed with cerebral palsy who became friends with TCU QB Trevone Boykin last year, made it to today's Iowa State-TCU game in Fort Worth. She got to speak with Boykin via FaceTime yesterday, too.
