Baylor opens 2nd half with another stop

Ryan Reid breaks up a fourth-and-goal pass from Brett Rypien to Cedrick Wilson from Baylor's 5-yard line to start the second half of the Motel 6 Cactus Bowl. Boise State, trailing 21-6, has thrown two interceptions and had two trips inside the 10 result in field goals.

Ted Miller ESPN Senior Writer

Boise State has 6 points on five possession inside Baylor 30. Three were 1st & goal situations. Another was at the 11. Two interceptions. Two field goals. One turnover on downs. That's some weak red zone karate.

Ted Miller ESPN Senior Writer

Boise State is 8 of 13 on 3rd down and 2 for 2 on fourth down, while Baylor is 2 of 5 on third down and 0 for 1 on fourth. That doesn't suggest a 21-6 Baylor lead at the break, but explosion plays and poor red zone execution are killing the Broncos.

Hasty punches in another Baylor TD

JaMycal Hasty finds a gap and makes his way to the end zone for 5-yard touchdown to cap off a 99-yard Baylor drive and increase its lead over Boise State to 21-3 in the Cactus Bowl.

Zach Smith heaves the ball downfield to KD Cannon, who takes it to the house for a 68-yard touchdown. The Bears lead Boise State 14-3 in the second quarter. Cannon has four catches for 169 yards.

Ted Miller ESPN Senior Writer

Baylor WR KD Cannon reminding folks who he is in Cactus Bowl. He's caught 6 passes for 168 yards with TDs of 30 & 68 yards. With 12 minutes left in second, Baylor leads Boise State 14-3. Boise State secondary not up to Cannon's skill and athleticism so far.
