ESPN 25 Power Rankings: Week: 17

After games of March 17

We're nearing the final lap of the high school hoops season, and we're inching closer to our final top 25 poll. With several state champions already crowned and just a spattering of games remaining, there wasn't a need for too much movement in this week's rankings.

The biggest mover was Mater Dei, which avenged an earlier defeat to Etiwanda to claim the CIF Southern California Open Division crown. With the win, the Monarchs move back into the top 10 for the first time in eight weeks. La Lumiere, a participant in the upcoming National High School Invitational, dropped out of the top 10 to No. 11 following a pair of losses at the Alhambra Catholic Invitational.

Also sliding is Long Beach Poly, which had its season ended at the hands of Mater Dei in semifinal play. Chester is on the rise at No. 14 and closing in on the program's fourth consecutive state crown. New to the mix is Bishop Connell, which collected titles at the WCAC tourney and at Alhambra last week to lay claim to the top team in the DMV.

Note: This poll is compiled weekly by the RecruitingNation staff. Every high school team is eligible to be ranked as long as its roster does not include any fifth-year seniors.
