espnW 25 Power Rankings: Week 11


The tension is building as the best teams in the nation continue their quests for state titles. And it's so far, so good for the top contenders for the national title.

The top 15 in this week's espnW 25 Power Rankings remain unchanged from a week ago.

Ranked as high as No. 18 earlier in the season, No. 23 Christ The King (N.Y.) returns to the rankings for the first time since Week 2. With back-to-back losses, defending national champion Riverdale (Tenn.) falls out for the first time this season.

The Monarchs have won 50 consecutive league games and seven straight league titles. Next up is the CIF Southern Section Open Division playoffs, where Mater Dei is the top seed.

Duncanville, TX

Duncanville's winning streak hit triple digits with an easy playoff win over Killeen Harker Heights and then tacked on win No. 101 with a victory over Irving MacArthur. Duncanville looks poised for another trip to Austin for the state tournament, where it would go for its third straight state title.

Iowa State-bound Nakiah Bell broke the school's single-season 3-point record with 74.

Junior Emily Surloff had 18 points in Windward's 57-49 win over No. 24 Sierra Canyon.

Flossmoor, IL

Homewood-Flossmoor rolls into the playoffs behind Faith Suggs and Amarah Coleman.
10Lawrence North (23-1)
Indianapolis, IN

Last Week: 10
Lawrence North won its sectional title and has racked up the most wins in school history. Next up is a regional semifinal on Saturday against Anderson.
11Myers Park (22-1)
Charlotte, NC

Last Week: 11
Myers Park beat East Mecklenburg 74-33 and has a first-round bye in its conference tournament.
12Bedford North Lawrence (23-1)
Bedford, IN

Last Week: 12
Bedford North Lawrence won its third straight sectional title and opens regionals on Saturday. Jenna Allen joined the 1,000-point club.
13St. Mary's (21-5)
Stockton, CA

Last Week: 13
St. Mary's forfeited a game against McNair after an altercation in the stands during a freshman game. "My priority was the safety of our players, our fans," coach Tom Gonsalves told the Stockton Record. "I didn't feel it was a safe environment for us to remain in."
14Etiwanda (19-5)
Etiwanda, CA

Etiwanda won its 13th league championship in a row, losing just one league game in the past 10 years. Next up is the CIF Southern Section Open Division playoffs, where Etiwanda is the No. 4 seed.

Salmen beat Franklinton 68-43 for its fourth consecutive district title. Super center Kalani Brown was a force with 25 points, 12 boards and 4 blocks. Salmen opens the playoffs Thursday as the No. 1 seed.

Christ The King has run the table since faltering to three ranked teams at the Nike TOC in December.

Junior Kennedy Burke had 20 points, 17 rebounds and 4 blocks in a 57-49 loss to No. 5 Windward.
