espnW 25 Power Rankings: Week 13

The numbers alone tell a compelling story of Riverdale's dominance.

A 35-0 record, a 58-game winning streak, a third state title in the past four years, the first undefeated season in program history. The Lady Warriors won their three TSSAA state playoff games by an average of 25 points, set four tournament records, and all five of their starters averaged double-digit points in their state-tournament run.

That all adds up to a No. 1 ranking for Riverdale (Murfreesboro, Tenn.) in the Week 13 espnW 25 Power Rankings.

Now for the names.

Senior point guard Tyisha Petty, a Middle Tennessee commit and a four-year starter at Riverdale, was named tournament MVP. Senior forward Olivia Jones, also a Middle Tennessee commit, scored 1,474 points in her high school career. Senior guard Tiffany Lewis, who transferred to Riverdale prior to this season, scored a game-high 23 points in Riverdale's first-round win. Junior guard Alexa Middleton is the No. 21 prospect in the espnW HoopGurlz Super 60 for the 2014 class. And junior forward Shelbie Davenport already has passed the 1,000-point plateau.

While there is plenty of basketball still to be played in California, Kentucky and beyond, Riverdale looks awfully comfortable in that top spot.
