espnW 25 Power Rankings: Week 6


After a flurry of holiday tournaments, Week 6 of the espnW 25 Power Rankings was a relatively quiet week.

Hopkins (MN) remains on top for the second week in a row and looks to run the table in Minnesota. Detroit Edison Academy (MI) looks to do the same in Michigan.

While No. 19 recruit Maddie Scherr eclipsed the 2,000-point plateau for unranked Larry Ryle High School (KY), No. 17 prospect Deja Kelly is closing in on 3,000 career points with No. 8 Duncanville (TX).

Mount Notre Dame beat Ryle (KY) 74-44 on the road. A balanced attack by KK Bransford and Makira Cook was the difference.

The senior duo of Treasure Hunt and Kamilla Cardoso combined to averaged 24 points and 22.5 points, respectively, in wins over Arlington (TN) and Whitehaven (TN).

Mater Dei lost to Trinity League member Rosary (CA) 65-55, breaking its 90-game league winning streak, which dated back to 2008.

Junior guard Lee Volker averaged 12 points in three wins over conference opponents as Paul VI got back to winning after a two-game skid.

Riverdale Baptist beat TPLS Academy (VA) 79-69 in its only game of the week. Senior guard Kaylah Ivey and junior center Kayla Thomas make for a formidable inside and outside combination.
