espnW 25 Power Rankings: Week 7

Windward (Los Angeles) was the big winner in the espnW 25 Power Rankings this week, posting two wins over ranked opponents at the Martin Luther King Holiday Showcase, hosted by St. Mary's (Stockton, Calif.). Kristen Simon, a USC recruit, had a big game against the hosts, dominating the paint with 25 points and 24 rebounds in an 89-74 win. Coach Vanessa Nygaard kept her team focused and backed up that win with a 58-55 victory over St. Mary's (Berkeley, Calif.) on Monday. The inside-outside combination of Simon and Jordin Canada, a UCLA recruit, gives the Wildcats the best guard-forward combination in the nation.

The top of the food chain remains unchanged, but No. 1 Incarnate Word Academy (St. Louis, Mo.) has a big game this weekend at the Raatz Fence Classic in Louisville, Ky., against No. 5 Blackman (Murfreesboro, Tenn.).
