espnW 25 Power Rankings: Week 9


It was a quiet week. So much so that we were almost ready to say a simple "ditto."

The top 13 teams in the espnW 25 Power Rankings remain in identical order from a week ago, with only some slight shuffling toward the bottom.

There were two games featuring two top-25 teams, and the higher-ranked team prevailed in both. No. 3 Blackman beat previous No. 14 Riverdale 58-49, and No. 5 Windward beat previous No. 22 Sierra Canyon 61-46. Defending champion Riverdale fell back to No. 17 and Sierra Canyon fell back to No. 24.

Windward beat No. 25 Sierra Canyon 61-46 behind 25 points from McDonald's All American Jordin Canada. Also notched wins against Brentwood and the Bishop's School this past week.

Long Beach Poly rolled up two wins over Millikan and Jordan this past week. Arica Carter had 23 points, 10 steals, 5 blocks and 4 assists in the win over Millikan.
