espnW 25 Power Rankings: Week 9


The week's biggest win goes to National Christian Academy, which topped Riverdale Baptist in front of an enthusiastic crowd for bragging rights in the DMV. Junior Mykea Gray had 23 points and four assists and Hofstra signee Mikiyah Croskey had 10 points and 11 rebounds in the win.

Honorable mention goes to Centennial, which moves up to No. 4 after topping Mater Dei 70-45 at the Monarchs' Nike Extravanza.

And how about a shout out to Paul VI, which beat Good Counsel in another matchup of two national powerhouses.

And still, it's St. Mary's and Duncanville that sit 1-2 and continue their pursuits of perfection as well as a national title.

With wins over Rio Linda (California) and Bishop O'Dowd (Oakland, California), St. Mary's extended its winning streak to 50 games. Aquira DeCosta dominated against Bishop O'Dowd with 24 points and 19 rebounds.

2Duncanville (32-0)
Duncanville, TX

Last Week: 2
Led by Zarielle Green and Ciera Johnson, Duncanville beat Cedar Hill (Texas) and Midlothian (Texas) to keep its perfect recrod alive heading into the playoffs.

3Paul VI (24-1)
Fairfax, VA

Last Week: 3
Paul VI stayed capped a four-win week with a victory over Bishop Ireton (Alexandria, Virginia) on Monday night. Headlines from the week included a 63-43 win over No. 10 Good Counsel and Pittsburgh Jasmine Whitney signee putting up monster numbers -- 20 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists and seven steals -- in a win over St. Mary's Ryken (Leonardtown, Maryland).
4Centennial (24-1)
Las Vegas, NV

Last Week: 5
Junior Samantha Thomas had 24 points and seven rebounds in a 70-45 win over No. 25 Mater Dei. Justice Ethridge added 20 points and Pam Wilmore had nine assists and five steals.

5National Christian Academy (22-0)
Fort Washington, MD

Last Week: 7
Junior point guard Mykea Gray had 23 points and four assists in a 55-50 win over No. 6 Riverdale Baptist.

6Riverdale Baptist (26-3)
Upper Marlboro, MD

Last Week: 4
Riverdale Baptist suffered its second loss in two weeks, falling to National Christian Academy 55-50. The Crusaders regrouped and posted a big win, 78-67, over No. 11 Forestville. Maryland signee Kaila Charles had 34 points and 13 rebounds.

7Neumann-Goretti (21-0)
Philadelphia, PA

Last Week: 6
Behind Syracuse signee Alisha Kebbe, James Madison signee Kamiah Smalls and junior Chyna Nixon, Neumann-Goretti had four wins this past week and takes a 51-game winning streak into the playoffs.

8Archbishop Mitty (16-3)
San Jose, CA

Last Week: 9
Junior Tahlia Garza had 19 points, freshman Haley Jones scored 12 and junior Madeline Holland added 12 points and 10 rebounds in a win over St. Francis (Mountain View, California).

9Miramonte (22-0)
Orinda, CA

Last Week: 10
Eastern Washington signee Uriah Howard and Utah Valley signee Keana Delos Santos each passed the 1,000-point milestone. Sabrina Ionescu, meanwhile, passed the 2,300-point milestone.

10Good Counsel (19-4)
Olney, MD

Last Week: 11
Good Counsel went 3-1 this past week, falling to No. 3 Paul VI 63-43. A couple headlines: Junior Lindsey Pulliam scored her 1,000th career point in a win over Archbishop Carroll (Washington, D.C.) and Cara Judkins had a double-double in a win over Bishop O'Connell (Arlington, Virginia).

11Forestville Military Academy (15-2)
Forestville, MD

Last Week: 12
After Taleah Washington and Anissa Rivera led Forestville to two easy wins, Forestville fell to No. 6 Riverdale Baptist 78-67. Syracuse signee Kiara Smith suffered an injury in the first quarter of the loss to Riverdale Baptist and didn't return.

Last Week: 8
After two easy wins this past week, Montini Catholic's hopes for a national title took a sharp detour with a 51-40 loss to Trinity (River Forest, Illinois).

Minnetonka, MN

Last Week: 13
Michigan State signee Nia Hollie had 18 points in a win over Shakopee (Minnesota).

14St. Francis (24-1)
Alpharetta, GA

Last Week: 14
Kasi Kushkituah had 12 points and nine rebounds as St. Francis turned back Collins Hill (Suwanee, Georgia) 44-35. The region tourney is next.

15Saint Johns College (18-4)
Washington, DC

Last Week: 15
Junior Aisha Sheppard lifted Saint John's College to three wins this past week.

Murfreesboro, TN

Last Week: 16
Connecticut signee Crystal Dangerfield celebrated her 2,000th point and Blackman added two wins this past week.

Murfreesboro, TN

Riverdale kept pace with rival Blackman and added two more wins this past week. Next up is districts.
