Minor out after Louisville's three-run homer

June, 1, 2009
LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Louisville had been looking for a big hit seemingly all weekend. The Cardinals finally got one in the fourth inning Monday against Vanderbilt.

Ryan Wright drilled a 3-1 pitch for a three-run home run to give the Cardinals a 3-1 lead and end Mike Minor's night.

You have to wonder whether Vandy coach Tim Corbin left Minor in too long. After going eight innings Friday, Minor wasn't going to have a lot in the tank tonight. Before Wright's home run, he had issued a walk, balked and thrown a wild pitch. He looked gassed.

There's still plenty of time for the Commodores to get back into this game, but Louisville starter Tony Zych has found a nice little groove, allowing just two hits through four innings.
