Something's brewing

A growing rivalry takes the spotlight in Tennessee on Friday night when Nashville (Tenn.) Ensworth hosts Brentwood (Tenn.) Academy. Just a few miles apart, the two schools have plenty in common, such as high academic standards, top-flight football programs and elite college football prospects. The game will be shown at 8 p.m. ET on ESPNU and WatchESPN.com.

Ensworth comes into the game ranked No. 20 in the ESPN 25 Power Rankings.

Top Recruit
RB Cornelius Elder, Class of 2013
"Corn" Elder has expressed interest in several schools and recently took a visit to Georgia Tech. He spoke glowingly of the visit and the chance to play basketball in the ACC. Elder has also expressed interest in Vanderbilt and Ohio State. He'll likely visit nearby Vandy soon and has scheduled a visit to Ohio State on Saturday. Elder also has an official visit to UCLA scheduled for Nov. 16 and also has expressed interest in Alabama, though the Crimson Tide haven't offered a scholarship yet. The chance to play basketball and football in college will likely be a key factor for the ESPN 300 prospect, who has more than a dozen scholarship offers.

Other Top Recruits
CB Rico McGraw, Class of 2015
Just a sophomore, McGraw figures to be one of the top prospects in Tennessee for the 2015 class. When he's a senior, he could be one of the top prospects in the southeast and possibly the nation. McGraw picked up his first scholarship offer this summer from Alabama. Since, several other schools have followed suit.

RB De'Andre Ferby, Class of 2014
It's understandably tough to get carries with Elder in the backfield. Still, Ferby is starting to show up more and more on college radars.

Top Recruit
CB Jalen Ramsey, Class of 2013
Ramsey committed to USC this summer over offers from several schools. The ESPN 150 prospect has since shown interest in Florida but is thought to still be solid to the Trojans. Ramsey is slated to play defensive back in college and excels at the position in high school. However, he's also proven to be an explosive playmaker on offense this season. That has some college recruiters wondering if he can play on both sides of the ball.

Other Top Recruits
QB Max Staver, Class of 2013
Staver committed to Florida over scholarship offers from Louisville and Mississippi State, among others. He seems 100-percent committed to the Gators and is trying to convince Ramsey to sign with Florida as well.

DE Derek Barnett, Class of 2014
Just a junior, Barnett is starting to show up on more college radars. He figures to be a solid prospect in the Class of 2014.
