Gray Horn suspended after arrest

GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Florida track standout Gray Horn, a three-time All-American and four-time All-SEC performer, has been suspended indefinitely after an DUI arrest.

"Gray Horn violated team rules and has been suspended from all team activities," Gators coach Mike Holloway said in a statement Thursday.

Horn was arrested April 14 by the Alachua Count Sheriff's Office and charged with DUI, according to Alachua County court records. He pleaded not guilty and has a May 30 court date.

Horn is the three-time defending decathlon champion in the SEC outdoor championships, which start today and run through Sunday in Baton Rouge, La.

Florida confirmed that sprinter Jeff Demps is being held out of the meet as well.

After straining a hamstring in practice a few weeks ago, Demps won't run as a precautionary measure, with the NCAA meet and Olympic trials coming up.

Demps runs the 100 meters and anchors Florida's 4x100 relay team, which won the event at the 2011 SEC championships.
