Oklahoma freshman linebacker Londell Taylor was arrested on multiple misdemeanor complaints last weekend, including driving under the influence and leaving the scene of an accident, Norman Police Department spokesperson Jennifer Newell said.
The incident occurred about 11:15 Saturday night, less than an hour after OU's 38-28 victory over Missouri.
According to Newell, Taylor was involved in a car crash near the intersection of Constitution Street and Classen Boulevard in Norman. Newell said Taylor was apprehended by police near the intersection of Lindsey Street and Lincoln Avenue. Taylor also failed to provide police with insurance verification, according to Newell.
Taylor attended Vian (Okla.) High School and originally signed with the Sooners in 2007. But he chose to pursue a pro baseball career after getting drafted in the 13th round by the Detroit Tigers. After four years with the Tigers, Taylor returned to OU as a walk-on. He is redshirting this season after undergoing shoulder surgery in the preseason.
