Wisconsin 66, Penn St 63

MADISON, Wis. (AP) _ Kirk Penney scored 20 points and Wisconsin
held off a late charge by Penn State for a 66-63 victory Saturday.
Charlie Wills had 15 points and Mike Wilkinson added 12 for the
Badgers (12-9, 5-3 Big Ten).
Brandon Watkins scored 14 of his 19 points in the second half to
lead Penn State (5-13, 1-6). The Nittany Lions, whose only Big Ten
victory came previously against Wisconsin, also got 13 points from
Sharif Chambliss and 11 from Tyler Smith.
After trailing by as many as 18 points early in the second half,
Penn State pulled within 64-63 on a 3-pointer by Watkins with 18
seconds remaining.
Travon Davis was fouled with 17 seconds left and made two free
throws to stretch Wisconsin's lead to 66-63. Smith then missed an
off-balance 3-point attempt at the buzzer.
Wisconsin led 48-33 with 11 minutes left when Penn State went on
a 13-2 run, capped by a 3-pointer by Jan Jagla that made it 50-46.
Penn State then went more than five minutes without a field goal
as Wisconsin extended its lead to 60-48, but the Nittany Lions put
together a 15-4 run.
