QB Future Power Rankings: Georgia leads the way

Which teams are primed for success over the next three seasons at the game's most important position? A true freshman led Georgia to the title game, and the Bulldogs have the nation's top 2018 recruit on campus, but Clemson and Alabama aren't far behind.

Source: Alabama is hiring Miami defensive line coach Craig Kugilowski for the same role. Kuligowski replaces Karl Dunbar, who recently left to coach defensive line with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Sports Illustrated first reported the move. Kuligowski returns to the SEC, where he had great success during a long run as Missouri's defensive line coach.

The Division I Council did not take action on the issue Wednesday of allowing redshirts in football to retain eligibility if they play in four games or fewer -- but the proposal is scheduled to go to vote in April and could go into effect this August. The proposal appears to have considerable support. If passed, it would replace the medical hardship rule. Said Miami AD Blake James, chair of the council: "I don't think it's right for a young man to lose a redshirt over what may be a need for a team in a competitive situation to have to find a player to play. Whether it's a bowl game or a game later in the season, personally I struggle with why we would take away the redshirt if they stay within a certain percentage [of games.]"

Miami is still about $1 million away on the initial $34 million price tag on the indoor facility. It launched a crowdfunder in late August that has raised $800,000, thanks in large part to the team's success in 2017.

The current weight room (left) will connect to the indoor through three doors that will be built into the existing structure.

Each of these steel beams weighs between 6,000-7,000 pounds and interlocks to form the structure. Much of the steel has been pre-fabricated in Alabama, so all the crews on the ground have to do is bolt them together in the right places.

Andrea Adelson ESPN Staff Writer

The entire structure is hurricane rated to withstand Category 5 winds. It's also going to be air conditioned and feature giant windows across the top that allow in natural light (and palm tree views, too).
