Former Tennessee athletic director Doug Dickey used to say that the head football coach at Tennessee would always be measured by how he fares against Alabama, Florida and Georgia. With the Vols headed to No. 1 Alabama on Saturday as a 36.5-point underdog and coach Butch Jones' seat scorching hot, the reality is that Tennessee hasn't measured up for much of the last two decades, spanning four different head coaches. Going back to the start of the 2000 season, Tennessee is just 15-38 against Alabama, Florida and Georgia. Phillip Fulmer had 11 of those wins from 2000-08, Jones three from 2013 to present, Lane Kiffin one in 2009 and Derek Dooley none from 2010-12.

Vols' offense has gone missing
Tennessee fans at least saw some points this Saturday vs. South Carolina, though those came on three field goals, after the shutout loss to Georgia. Next up in the Volunteers' quest to find the end zone will be a visit to Alabama next Saturday.
