Nats hurler Stephen Strasburg, on hearing that Dodgers lefty Alex Wood is planning on working exclusively from the stretch this year after watching Strasburg do it last year: "I don't try to set trends. I don't think I've started anything new. There's other guys that have done it before me. I did it to try to be more consistent." It worked: Strasburg's 2.72 FIP led the NL, and his 71% quality start rate trailed only Clayton Kershaw.

One of the most noticeable changes at Nats camp under Davey Martinez is the presence of music during workouts. The new skipper taps different players each day to DJ, and on Thursday it was Bryce Harper's turn. Harper went with old school hip hop, including Biz Markie's "Just a Friend," and "I Got 5 On It" by Luniz.
