Watson torching opponents with play-action

Deshaun Watson threw two touchdowns off of play-action on Sunday for the third consecutive game, the first time a QB has done so in the last 10 seasons. His eight play-action TD passes this year lead the NFL and are twice as many as Texans QBs had in all of 2016. (ESPN Stats & Info)

Browns' Jackson isn't buying Watson text story

Cleveland Browns coach Hue Jackson seemed perplexed by a report during the game broadcast on CBS that he had texted Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson the day of the draft and said, "be ready."

O'Brien says Watson is a great guy to coach (0:38)

Sarah Barshop ESPN Staff Writer

Deshaun Watson said he and Browns coach Hue Jackson built a relationship during the draft process and knew Cleveland was a possibility after getting a text from Jackson the morning of the draft. Watson tosses 3 TDs as Texans beat Browns 33-17

Deshaun Watson threw for 225 yards and three touchdowns, becoming the first rookie in NFL history with at least three TD passes in three straight games, helping give the Houston Texans a 33-17 win over the Cleveland Browns on Sunday.

Texans rookie quarterback Deshaun Watson continued his historic start to his career, now with 15 passing touchdowns through six games, which is the most by a rookie quarterback in that timeframe since the NFL-AFL merger. Despite losses on defense, Watson continues to put up points on the board, and the Texans have scored 30 or more points in four straight games, a franchise record.

That pick-six perfectly encapsulates the risk of Deshaun Watson's aggressiveness. Great for fantasy, but his INT rate is due to rise.

Deshaun Watson's pass intended for Will Fuller was intercepted and returned for a touchdown by Browns DB Jason McCourty. That was Watson's first career pick-six and his fifth of the season.

Watson finds Hopkins for 3rd TD pass of game (0:22)

Tristan H. Cockcroft ESPN Senior Writer

With that TD pass to DeAndre Hopkins, Deshaun Watson now has 23.78 fantasy points today. If that holds, Watson has already broken the record for fantasy points by a quarterback through his first five starts, his 130.88 eclipsing Cam Newton's 128.40.

Matt Bowen ESPN Staff Writer

Deshaun Watson TD pass to DeAndre Hopkins. Red zone play action with Hopkins on the slant. And that's on film. Browns have to alert for that concept given the field position.

Inside linebacker Dylan Cole has been ruled out for the rest of the game with a hamstring injury. He joins the list of Texans defensive injuries, including J.J. Watt and Whitney Mercilus.
