Bill O'Brien said Tom Savage was evaluated after the hit he took and it was determined he was OK to come back into the game. He was then evaluated again and the medical staff was not satisfied with the results of the second test and took him out.

DeAndre Hopkins now has four career games with at least 35 PPR fantasy points, and he has had a different quarterback throwing to him in each: 2014 Week 13 (44.8), Ryan Fitzpatrick 2015 Week 6 (36.8), Brian Hoyer 2017 Week 8 (36.4), Deshaun Watson 2017 Week 14 (35.9), Tom Savage/T.J. Yates

With the loss to the now-3-10 49ers, the Texans fell to 4-9 on the season, essentially eliminating them from playoff contention. The Texans lost starting quarterback Tom Savage in the second quarter with a concussion and although T.J. Yates threw two touchdown passes, it was not enough to beat San Francisco.

We should await response from the Texans before judging their medical staff for returning QB Tom Savage to today's game after a brutal hit that left him, at the very least, stunned for several seconds on the ground. But to be clear, the NFL supplies video equipment to every bench for every game to help doctors spot possible concussions. There is also an athletic trainer observing from the press box. It would have been a failure of protocol for them not to have seen the aftermath of the hit before approving him for return to play.

The Texans finished the first half without QB Tom Savage after he was taken into the locker room. The team has not made an injury announcement, but Savage took a hard hit in the second quarter. QB T.J. Yates replaced Savage and led the Texans on a nine-play, 75-yard touchdown drive.

The Westgate Las Vegas Superbook currently has Houston favored by 2 over San Francisco. FPI strongly disagrees with that line, estimating a Houston win by over 10 points today. And yes, it knows Jimmy Garoppolo is playing.
