Colts release DT Hankins after one season

Johnathan Hankins, who had 44 tackles and two sacks in his only season with the Colts after signing a three-year deal, has been released by the team.

The Colts continued making moves on Saturday, as they've released defensive lineman Johnathan Hankins. Hankins, who signed with the Colts in April 2017, had 44 tackles and two sacks while starting all 15 games that he appeared in last season.

I've said all along that the Colts, who don't need a quarterback, were in a great position to trade down in this draft. Moving back to No. 6 overall in the deal with the Jets still allows Indianapolis to take the best player available. Could top pass-rusher Bradley Chubb be on the board there? Indianapolis also adds two second-round picks this year (and one in 2019) to fill out a roster badly in need of talent.

Colts GM Chris Ballard isn't playing when it comes to building the roster through the draft. The Colts have acquired the sixth overall, 37th overall and 49th overall picks in this year's draft and a 2nd round pick in the 2019 draft from the New York Jets for the third overall pick in this year's draft.

WR Grant visiting Colts after Ravens deal nixed

WR Ryan Grant, whose deal with the Ravens was scuttled after failing a physical, is visiting the Colts and "would be able to play" if there were a game tomorrow, his agent told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Ravens center Ryan Jensen was flown in on a private plane from Tampa Thursday and had dinner in Indianapolis with the Colts' brass last night. That visit continues today. The Bucs believe they made a good offer comparable to what the Colts will offer but I'm told that it's also about finding the right "fit" for him.

Jenna Laine ESPN Staff Writer

Sources tell me Ryan Jensen's visit has concluded with the Bucs and he is boarding a private plane right now to Indianapolis to visit the Colts, as scheduled. Yes, the Colts sent a private plane down to Tampa.

The Colts have agreed to a three-year, $17.8 million deal, with $6.5 million guaranteed, with free agent defensive lineman Denico Autry, a source confirms. Autry spent the past four seasons in Oakland where he had 100 tackles and 10.5 sacks. The Colts are moving to a 4-3 defense under new defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus.

The Colts have given exclusive rights tenders to cornerback Chris Milton, long snapper Luke Rhodes, tight end Erik Swoope and guard Jeremy Vujnovich.

Free agent center Ryan Jensen, who is scheduled to visit the Colts this week, played 18 games at left and right guard in the 2015-16 seasons and started all 16 games at center last season with the Baltimore Ravens. Jensen would likely play guard with the Colts if he signs with them because they have Ryan Kelly at center.
