The deadline for early entrants to declare for the NBA draft has passed, so it's time to re-evaluate the early top 25 for 2018-19. With so many players testing the waters yet not signing with an agent, it's more art than science.

The Cowboys have picked up the fifth-year option on defensive back Byron Jones. The move was actually made last Friday. Jones is moving to cornerback in 2018 after spending the last two seasons at safety. The option is worth $6.2 million and is guaranteed only for injury. Since the new collective bargaining agreement, the only first-round pick to not have the option picked up was Morris Claiborne (2012).
Nomar Mazara and Joey Gallo hit impressive home runs in the same inning, and the Texas Rangers avoided a series sweep with a 7-4 win over the Seattle Mariners on Sunday.
Mazara crushes HR for Rangers (0:27)
DeShields robs a homer away from Freitas (0:33)
Gallo sends it the opposite way for 2-run HR (0:34)
The Rangers activated Delino Deshields from the disabled list Sunday and the outfielder is batting leadoff and playing center field against the Mariners.
Nelson Cruz homered for the 100th time at his former home, Robinson Cano hit a tiebreaking shot and the Seattle Mariners held on for a 9-7 win over the Texas Rangers on Saturday night.
Jean Segura hit a two-run double in a four-run ninth inning after Mitch Haniger's tying homer in the eighth, lifting the Seattle Mariners over the Texas Rangers 6-2 on Friday night.
While it might seem like the Cowboys have their group set after filling holes in free agency, it doesn't mean they'll ignore the position in the draft.

Dealing with an arthritic knee condition, tight end James Hanna felt it was time to think about his long-term health in his decision to retire. “The dream was to play for the Cowboys,” Hanna said. “I don't know how many people actually do what they say they're going to do as like a 13 year old, but I consider myself to be extremely lucky in that sense. Also the college I went to (Oklahoma), I feel like I met my goals. It would've been nice to have more stats and obviously I could've done more things, but I'm proud of what I accomplished.”

The Cowboys will place James Hanna on the reserve/retired list as the tight end could not get over a serious knee condition that troubled him for most of the last two seasons, according to sources. Hanna was not involved in the early part of the team's offseason program.
