Texas AD Mike Perrin released a statement today defending coach Tom Herman's hiring of former Baylor staffer Casey Horny. Perrin said he "spoke at length" with Horny and looked into his background before Herman hired him as a special teams quality control coach. Horny had defended Art Briles in past posts on his Twitter account, which he deleted after taking the Texas job. Perrin said that social media commentary "will not be tolerated at Texas."

Cowboys linebacker Sean Lee was added to the Pro Bowl Tuesday as a replacement for Carolina's Luke Kuechly. Lee was one of the biggest snubs at the time the Pro Bowl rosters were announced. This will be his second straight appearance and brings the total Cowboys at the all-star game to six, joining Dak Prescott, Ezekiel Elliott, Tyron Smith, Travis Frederick and Zack Martin.
