DALLAS Teams

Really good fit for Patrick Mahomes in Kansas City. Structured system under Andy Reid that will develop his footwork, timing and overall mechanics. Plus, with the west coast route tree, Mahomes can showcase his arm strength throwing the ball inside of the numbers. Find the window and expose the coverage.

QB Patrick Mahomes is loaded with talent. If you focus on his mechanics and his backyard style of play, you're not going to like him. If you focus on the results and his potential, you see star qualities. Kansas City is a great home for Mahomes. He can learn from Andy Reid and won't be rushed onto the field.

As for the Chiefs and Patrick Mahomes, a QB needing time to develop could do much worse than to spend that time with Andy Reid.

The Chiefs drafted a quarterback in the first round for the first time since 1983 in Texas Tech quarterback Patrick Mahomes.I had Chiefs taking Mahomes in ESPN NFL Nation mock draft, but at 27.

Ezekiel Elliott went No. 4 last year to the Cowboys. Maybe he's added value to the running back position with Leonard Fournette going No. 4 overall to Jacksonville and Christian McCaffrey going No. 8 overall to Carolina this year.

The Cowboys have placed right tackle Doug Free on the reserve/retired list, giving them $5 million in salary cap room. Free, a starter since 2010, spent 10 seasons with the Cowboys. Do not expect the Cowboys to use the added cap room for any free agents.

Last year the Cowboys drafted two cornerstones in Ezekiel Elliott and Dak Prescott. This year, Dallas will look to improve on the defensive side, more specifically its lacking pass rush.
