Like everyone else here in Dallas, legendary Stars center Mike Modano heard the jeers for NHL commissioner Gary Bettman. They started early and continued throughout the first round of the NHL Draft on Saturday night, usually at Bettman's encouragement. They stopped when Modano and Stars captain Jamie Benn surprised Dallas fans with an appearance on stage when the team made their pick. "He couldn't wait for us to get out there. He was struggling. I told him I'd go out there and tell everybody to back off on Gary a little bit. ‘Well, they might start booing you,' he said. That be shortlived," said Modano with a laugh. "Poor Gary. He get it everywhere. They booed him when he came out when Jersey [won the Cup] in Reunion Arena, so he's no stranger to that."
