Ezekiel Elliott clears hurdle in Cowboys win

Ezekiel Elliot's development as a runner was on display as he gashed the Bears defense for 140 yards en route to his best game so far this season.

I love it when a star isn't "too cool" to still be a fan! Dabo Swinney told me a hilarious story about meeting Pitt/Dallas Cowboys legend Tony Dorsett: He was at the ACC awards dinner and sees Dorsett. Freaks. "That's TONY DORSETT. I ain't leavin' here til I meet him! "Here I'm about to accept ACC Coach of the Year and I'm all super fan over here." Suddenly, here comes Dorsett, says... "I HAVE to get a picture with you. My agent will die!" Dorsett's agent? A Clemson grad. And then this showed up in the mail.

The Cowboys used Ezekiel Elliott's legs and Dak Prescott's arm to get a 31-17 win against the Chicago Bears. For the first time since the 2015 opener the Cowboys won a game at AT&T Stadium. Next up are the San Francisco 49ers. Could the Cowboys get to 3-1?

ESPN Stats and Information

Ezekiel Elliott rushed for 140 yards in the Cowboys' win over the Bears on Sunday night. Elliott totaled 134 rushing yards in his first 2 games combined. His 274 rushing yards through the first 3 games are second-most by a Cowboys player. Calvin Hill's 299 are the most.

Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott played like a Top 5 pick tonight. Power, vision and speed through the hole. Elliott finished with 140 yards rushing on 30 carries and he also added 20 yards receiving. I thought Elliott hit the hole with much more acceleration than I saw on film in the first two weeks of the season. He showcased the ability to bounce the ball outside and find cutback lanes. He's a great fit for the Cowboys zone running schemes. Impressive night for the rookie in the Cowboys 31-17 win over the Bears.

The Dallas Cowboys have their first home win in more than a year. Thanks to three rushing touchdowns, a cool Dak Prescott and an impressive Ezekiel Elliott, the Cowboys beat the Chicago Bears, 31-17, to end an eight-losing streak at AT&T Stadium. Prescott has gone 99 passes without an interception and Elliott picked up the first 100-yard game of his career. The Cowboys are staring at 3-1 start with trip to San Francisco next week.
