Zack Martin is not taking part in the OTAs but there is no doubting how the Cowboys and Jason Garrett feel about him. Martin has taken over the locker that had been occupied by Jason Witten for two years at The Star. Garrett puts all of the team leaders in strategic spots in the room. DeMarcus Lawrence has moved to Dez Bryant's spot. Travis Frederick has moved to a corner spot occupied by Darren McFadden.

Normally running backs will take almost all of their carries during practice to the end zone to work on conditioning. Ezekiel Elliott did more than that in the first OTA. On the final rep of team drills whether he got the ball or not he ran to the end zone, sometimes as much as 40 yards.

On May 9, Jerry Jones was not sure what the resolution would be to the NFL's national anthem issue, but said, “Everyone knows my position on that. And so we'll give the kind of sensitivity and thought and discussion that it deserves and we'll come up with a league-wide, going forward, position. But I reiterate that everybody knows where I stand on it.”

All-Pro right guard Zack Martin did not take part in Tuesday's OTA and it's not clear if he will work in any of them, according to multiple sources. The Cowboys and Martin's agents have been in talks regarding a long-term deal over the last few weeks. The OTAs are voluntary and Martin has been at The Star working out since the captains' sessions started almost a month before the official start of the offseason program.

The Cowboys signed third-round pick Michael Gallup to a four-year deal, which means their entire draft class is now under contract. Gallup caught 100 passes for 1,413 yards in 2017 at Colorado State and will compete in a re-made receiver room with Terrance Williams, Cole Beasley, Allen Hurns, Deonte Thompson and others. The Cowboys signed eight of the nine picks during the rookie minicamp two weeks ago. Last year, the Cowboys did not sign third rounder Jourdan Lewis until June 29 to finish their rookie signings.
