Kris Richard's impact on the Cowboys' defense has been evident early on, and on Wednesday coordinator Rod Marinelli said Richard has handled some of the play-calling responsibilities in the first two games. The Cowboys are allowing just 274 yards per game and given up only 29 points, their fewest in the first two games of a season since 1996. “The thing I've always believed in and it's one of our standards here is it's about the team,” Marinelli said. “The team to me is everything. Every decision you make is how you get the team better. Some of the things he can do he makes us better. So I'm really glued to that."

Cowboys linebacker Sean Lee said he plans on playing Sunday at Seattle after going through a limited portion of Thursday's practice with a hamstring injury. Lee, who was hurt late in the win against the New York Giants, did not practice on Wednesday. The Cowboys feel like they are better protected at linebacker this year if something were to happen to Lee with first-round pick Leighton Vander Esch and veteran Joe Thomas.

Defensive end Randy Gregory went through his first full practice since suffering a concussion in the season opener at Carolina. Gregory was limited in one practice last week and did not play against the New York Giants. Safety Xavier Woods practiced for the first time this season because of a hamstring injury and was limited. He said after practice he took his normal reps and felt fine. “Whatever coach Richard wants, that's how it's going to go,” Woods said.

Officially, Sean Lee did not practice because of a hamstring injury suffered late in the win against the New York Giants. Lee went through the early portion of practice that was open to the media. After the Giants' game, Lee said he felt he would be able to play against Seattle and the cramping was unrelated to the issues that caused him to miss five games last season.
