Cowboys executive Vice President Stephen Jones on Tony Romo's mindset now that he had been diagnosed with a broken bone in his back: "He's driven for this not to be like last year," Jones said. He's certainly not deterred and he really feels like it's going to be different but he can get through this and that he also feels very confident that our team can win football games without him while he's not here. He's driven to help Dak win football games for us so that when he gets back that we have a great chance to have a great season, get in the tournament and contend for a championship. Nothing's changed."

From 2012-15, Dez Bryant averaged .239 fantasy points per snap when Tony Romo was his quarterback, compared to .144 when Romo was on the sidelines. For a player who usually plays 50-55 snaps per game, that's roughly a five fantasy point difference per contest.
