Cruz, who was 2-for-4 with three stolen bases Tuesday, expects to play Wednesday. He is batting .333 and is tied for the major league lead with seven home runs.
Cruz said he felt the cramp while he was throwing in the outfield late in the game. He then felt it grab after his first swing of his ninth-inning at-bat. Trainers looked at him briefly, but he stayed in and eventually struck out when the score was 6-6.
"When I made that first swing, it caught again," said Cruz. "I should be able to go tomorrow."
David Murphy replaced him in right field for the bottom of the ninth.
