Rangers' Nelson Cruz tweaks hamstring

ARLINGTON, Texas -- Texas Rangers outfielder Nelson Cruz left Saturday's 3-1 loss to the Boston Red Sox with tightness in his left hamstring.

Cruz tripled with one out in the bottom of the seventh inning against Red Sox starter Jon Lester and appeared to slow down heading to third base. It was the Rangers' first extra-base hit of the night.

Hamstring problems have plagued Cruz this season. He landed on the 15-day disabled list twice in the first two months of the season.

Earlier in the day, the Rangers sent infielder Cristian Guzman to the 15-day disabled list with a right quad strain and recalled right-handed pitcher Pedro Strop.
