Choo, who sprained his left ankle in the seventh inning last Monday in Oakland, tested it out running from home plate to first and rounding the bag prior to batting practice.
"Every day I feel a lot better," Choo said Monday. "I'm not 100 percent, but in this game no one plays 100 percent."
Choo worked on touching the base with his right foot, which is unusual for him. He said he normally is paced out from home plate to hit the bag with his left foot.
Choo said he felt better, but after talking with manager Ron Washington it was decided that he could pinch-hit if needed on Monday and would play Tuesday, assuming he felt good when he got to the park.
