Mavs' Marion not yet ready to return

PORTLAND, Ore. -- The Dallas Mavericks will have to try to beat the Portland Trail Blazers for the first time this season without Shawn Marion.

Marion isn't ready to test his strained left oblique in game action. He has been working out and participated in Thursday's light practice and Friday's morning shootaround, but he's concerned about aggravating the injury if he rushes back.

"I just want to make sure I don't do anything to make it worse," Marion said while on his way to a pregame workout on the Rose Garden court.

The Mavericks continue to list Marion as day to day, but it appears the odds are against him playing on this three-game road trip.
