Mavs' Tyson Chandler out with illness

DALLAS -- A stomach illness kept Dallas Mavericks starting center Tyson Chandler out of the lineup for the first time this season Tuesday night as the team extended its win streak to 10 games with a 105-100 win against the Golden State Warriors.

Chandler's absence gave backup Brendan Haywood his first start since Game 6 of last season's first-round playoff loss to the San Antonio Spurs. Ian Mahinmi moved up to the backup role and fourth-string center Alexis Ajinca was active for just the second time this season.

Chandler is averaging 8.9 points and 9.3 rebounds in 26.7 minutes. He has four double-doubles and has been praised by coach Rick Carlisle as a significant factor in the team's strong defensive play this season. The Mavs' defense entered Tuesday the fourth best in the NBA in points allowed.

Haywood started the season off slowly, but in his last three games is averaging 7.0 points and 11.0 rebounds.
