Hamilton injures shoulder, neck in fall

SURPRISE, Ariz. -- Texas Rangers outfielder Josh Hamilton had X-rays on his "very sore" shoulder Thursday and results were negative.

Hamilton, who did not participate in workouts Thursday, fell while chasing a fly ball during outfield drills Wednesday, the Rangers' first full-squad workouts of the spring. He said he iced the shoulder Wednesday and had X-rays at his request Thursday.

"We'll see how it feels at the end of the day," Hamilton said.

Hamilton hit .268 with 10 home runs and 54 RBIs last season, when he was limited to 89 games because of injuries.
