Dez Bryant has rib stress fracture

Dallas Cowboys rookie wide receiver Dez Bryant played in Sunday's game against the Houston Texans with a stress fracture in his ribs.

Bryant received some extra padding under his jersey to protect the area that's bothering him. Team officials said Bryant came out of the game fine. Bryant finished with four catches for 50 yards.

The injury first occurred in the season opener against the Washington Redskins and bothered him the following week against the Chicago Bears.

In other injury news, tight end Jason Witten (MCL sprain) and left guard Kyle Kosier (tweaked MCL) should be limited this week in the two full practices this week with knee issues.

The playing status of both players won't be determined since the Cowboys have a bye this week. However, the week off should help both players recover in time for the Tennessee Titans game next week.
