DeMarcus Ware fined $15,000

IRVING, Texas -- Dallas Cowboys outside linebacker DeMarcus Ware was fined $15,000 by the NFL for his roughing-the-passer penalty Sunday against Buffalo.

Ware, who has a team-high 13 sacks, was flagged 15 yards on the first play of the second half for hitting Bills quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick in the head and neck area. Ware did not protest the penalty and he helped Fitzpatrick off the ground, but he said he will appeal the fine.

It is at least the third time Ware has been fined for hits on a quarterback in his career. He had $5,000 taken from him in 2006 for a hit on Washington's Mark Brunell and $12,500 for a hit on Detroit's Jon Kitna, who is now his teammate.
