Morrow out; Grossman closer to return

The Dallas Stars got news on the injury front Sunday.

The bad: Winger and captain Brenden Morrow (lower body injury) will not be available for Monday's game against the Minnesota Wild. Morrow was injured in Saturday's win over Detroit. Jere Lehtinen, who suffered an upper body injury in Saturday's game, remains questionable for Monday's game.

The good: Defenseman Nicklas Grossman (lower body injury) is getting closer to a return and was activated from injured reserve. He's questionable for Monday.

To give the team more depth at forward, the Stars called up right wing Ray Sawada from the Texas Stars, Dallas' primary AHL affiliate. Sawada, 24, is a right-handed shot that has two goals and five assists in 30 games for Texas this season. He was the second-round pick of the Stars in the 2004 NHL entry draft.

Grossman, 24, suffered a lower body injury (it appeared to be a right knee) on Jan. 6 against the New York Islanders. He has appeared in 41 games for the Stars this season and has four assists and is plus-5.

Should he return Monday, he would probably rejoin Stephane Robidas to make up the top defensive pair.
