Stars goalie Kari Lehtonen put on IR

The Dallas Stars placed goaltender Kari Lehtonen on injured reserve and called up goaltender Richard Bachman and left wing Francis Wathier from the Texas Stars of the American League.

With Lehtonen going on IR, he'll miss at least a week. He suffered a groin injury in the first period of Saturday night's 3-0 loss at Phoenix. The Dallas goalie, who is tied for the league lead with 13 wins, was injured while stopping a shot by Coyotes defenseman Derek Morris on a play that was offside.

Lehtonen joins Stars captain Brenden Morrow (upper body), defenseman Alex Goligoski (broken thumb) and right wing Adam Burish (broken hand) on the injured reserve list. Morrow is expected to return for Thursday's game against Ottawa. Goligoski and Burish are expected to return around mid-December.

Defenseman Trevor Daley (back) and center Vernon Fiddler (groin) also were injured in the Phoenix game.
Fiddler should be ready to play Monday at Colorado.

"He is probably going to be a go," said Stars coach Glen Gulutzan on Sunday. "We'll see how that transpires, but he'll probably be a go for us."

Daley is out. Gulutzan said Adam Pardy likely will take Daley's place on a pairing with Nicklas Grossman.

Krys Barch, who has been a scratch the last four games, will be in the lineup Monday to bring some fresh legs and energy.

Andrew Raycroft will start in goal and Bachman will be the backup.

Bachman has played 15 games for Texas this season, posting a 7-5-1 record, 3.13 goals against average and .887 save percentage. He played in one game for Dallas last season, stopping all four shots he faced in 9:35 of playing time against Phoenix.

Wathier is not expected to play Monday. He has 12 points (five goals, seven assists) and had a team-high plus-3 rating in 19 games with Texas. He has played eight NHL games with Dallas, registering no points.
