Brad Keselowski not Vegas favorite

LAS VEGAS -- Brad Keselowski may have been impressive in winning his first Sprint Cup title two weeks ago, but not enough to make him the favorite among Las Vegas bettors to repeat.

Not even close.

The sports book at the Las Vegas Wynn that is hosting Friday night's Sprint Cup banquet has Keselowski tied with Jeff Gordon for seventh in odds for winning the 2013 title.

Five-time champion Jimmie Johnson is the favorite at 7-2, followed by Denny Hamlin at 7-1, Kyle Busch at 8-1, Clint Bowyer at 9-1, Tony Stewart at 10-1 and Matt Kenseth at 10-1.

Keselowski, who won the title by 39 points over Bowyer and 40 over Johnson, and Gordon are next at 11-1.

"I was thinking I ought to put $100 down on my name,'" Keselowski said Tuesday during a live radio show from the Wynn sports book.

The odds on NASCAR's perennial most popular driver, Dale Earnhardt Jr. is 15-1. Danica Patrick, who will compete full-time on the Cup level for the first time, is 250-1.

Keselowski kicked off champion's week with a full day, ranging from an open interview at the Motorsports Marketing Forum at the Aria Convention Center to dinner with NASCAR president Mike Helton.

Keselowski didn't seem bothered by the odds for 2013, reminding few gave him a chance to win it all this year.
