Kansas vs. North Carolina
Talk about drama. There will be unbelievable emotion as Roy Williams faces his former employer, Rock, Chalk, Jayhawk!
When Williams left Lawrence, there were a lot of fans and supporters who were upset and disappointed. My friends, that means they loved him. If they didn't care about him, they wouldn't have been angry. Yes, he will get some boos from Kansas fans.
Kansas will have a different mindset than it had against Davidson. There was real pressure facing the 10th-seeded Wildcats because the expectation was a big win. It was a nailbiter but the Jayhawks got to the winner's circle.
I think you will actually see a more relaxed Kansas team in the national semifinals. I think you will see the Jayhawks athletically in transition as they try to score off turnovers too.
Kansas and North Carolina are similar in the ability to take a mistake and convert it into points.
I just feel Tyler Hansbrough is on a mission. He did not allow Louisville to beat him, taking his team on his back.
This Tar Heels team has done nothing to prove that I should change my pick. I took them #1 at the start of the season, and I feel they will advance to Monday's national championship game. This team has too much depth and strength.
UCLA vs. Memphis
Is anybody playing better right now than John Calipari's squad? Just look at the blowouts over Michigan State and Texas. UCLA almost lost a 21-point halftime lead against Western Kentucky, and also beat a solid Xavier team.
Before the tournament started, I had UCLA vs. North Carolina for the national championship. I have to be loyal and I cannot change now.
That said, how can you go against Memphis with the momentum it is enjoying.
UCLA is dynamite defensively, but the offensive efficiency is a concern. Now the talent level is elevated at the Final Four, going from quality teams to a higher group.
The Bruins will have to shoot the ball well at the Final Four. UCLA has to put points on the board, and I am not sure that will happen against Memphis. The Tigers play super defense.
It will be interesting to see the matchup in the backcourt as Derrick Rose and Chris Douglas-Roberts have been outstanding in the tournament. The battle inside between Kevin Love and Joey Dorsey should be intriguing. Dorsey has to stay out of foul trouble.
It should be one of the greatest Final Fours ever. Combined these teams have a 143-9 record! Each club has won at least 35 games! It is the crème de la crème, baby!
