Barnes makes right call on Klotz discipline

SPECIAL TO ESPN.COM

Jan. 7, 2005
Kudos to Texas coach Rick Barnes for taking quick action and suspending Jason Klotz for one game.

Klotz threw a punch at Simplice Njoya of Memphis during Thursday night's Longhorns victory. The incident was flagrant, and unfortunately the officials did not see it.

Barnes decided to suspend Klotz for Sunday's game against Baylor. It was the right decision to sit him.

I have Klotz on my All-Sixth Man team -- he has been outstanding coming off the bench for Texas. Unfortunately, hitting Njoya was a mistake, and now Klotz will pay the price.
